Ep. 21. People, Stats and Belonging.

Rainbow Grandma Radio

Thursday, 15 October 2026 - 28 minutes

We’ll revisit a family gathering with Nan, Dad, Nathan, Jen, and Bry, where birthdays, fishing, beachcombing, apple-picking stories, and plenty of overlapping conversations made for a memorable celebration. There was pumpkin pie, Nana’s cherry pie, birthday cake, and a round of gratitude that came down to what matters most: being together.
And because Grandma loves her numbers almost as much as she loves a good story, we’ll look at statistics about the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. Numbers can help us understand needs and experiences, but they can also mislead when we forget the people behind the percentages. Grandma also learned that her greatest fan was sitting at her table.
So bring your appetite, your curiosity, and your favourite family story. There’s room at this table for laughter, learning, chosen family, and everyone who needs a reminder that they belong. After all, Grandma would much rather see you than simply count you!
