Nearly 1,000 seniors in the province are about to get more money back on their taxes. If you are a senior on a low income and receive the Guaranteed Income Supplement you are eligible to receive the GIS provincial tax refund. Still, you have to regularly file a tax return and be over 65. The province says because of a rising senior population they are sending out $1.4 million dollars this year compared to the $800,000 given last year. Cheques for the 2023 taxation year and prior years go out this month.
