The District of Lunenburg is updating its Building Code Bylaw. With this update, several changes will take effect on January 1st. Those include building permits which will expire after one year. Building permits may be renewed twice, up to three years. Location Certificates will be required for new permanent homes and commercial buildings, sheds, garages, additions, and renovations are exempt. The district is also simplifying fees to a single rate of $0.72 per $1,000 of estimated construction value, which will apply to all projects.
