Federal Budget Out Today

The federal government says the fall budget will have something for everyone. Finance Minister Francois-Phillippe Champagne told reporters yesterday that the fiscal blueprint will not contain any surprises. He also promised generational investments. Today’s budget is the first for Prime Minister Mark Carney. The minority Liberal government will need the support of opposition parties to pass. If it doesn’t pass a confidence vote, Canadians would be headed into an early election.
