Booze Sales up at NSLC

The NSLC has seen an increase in alcohol and cannabis sales during the third quarter. From September to December sales were up 2.3 per cent to just over $236 million over the same time last year. Sales of Nova Scotia products increased by 10.3 per cent to $37.9 million. Earnings increased 1.3 per cent to $76.7 million. After reintroducing American alcohol on NSLC shelves in December to sell off remaining product, third-quarter sales totalled $6.7 million. The NSLC says almost $6 million in net profits from U.S. sales will be donated to Feed Nova Scotia and other food banks in the province. Lunenburg County will see grants totalling nearly $120,000 going to 12 community food initiatives.
